No. Small businesses are not automatically exempt from the paid sick leave and paid FMLA requirements of the Family First Coronavirus Response Act. Regardless of the number of employees, be prepared to comply – provide paid sick leave and paid FMLA to employees beginning Wednesday, April 1. The exemption will be difficult to secure.
