Nevada Reverts To Normal Unemployment Model
The Federal Pandemic Unemployment Benefits and Extensions ended on September 4th, 2021. As of September 5th, 2021, Nevada has reverted to its regular unemployment base period model. This model is calculated on reported wages over a certain period of time. For more information on this, go to: UI.nv.gov and click on the “Claimant Tab”, or go to Unemployment (nv.gov). The discontinued program included:
● An additional $300.00/ week for unemployed individuals
● Unemployment compensation for gig workers and independent contractors
● Payments that extended these benefits after a claimant had exhausted their regular unemployment benefits
